INFORMATION FOR DELEGATES

Welcome to the conference. Should you have any questions or requests, please contact the Conference Office (see map).

Lunch will be served in the main dining room (see map). Teas will be served in the Jeffrey Auditorium foyer. During registration on the morning of the first day teas will be served in the main dining hall. Exhibitors can be found in classrooms in the English Quad above the main hall. You will pass them on the way to the two classroom presentation venues. The Johannian Club will be open if you wish to purchase light snacks, hot drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Venue booking for some sessions was done online prior to the conference. If spare places are available in venues this will be announced at the plenary sessions.

Be sure to attend the final session at 2pm on Thursday 7th if you wish to win the state-of-the-art SMART™ Interactive Whiteboard donated by SMART™ through their agent Vastratech. There will also be a similar draw for an eInstruction MobiView™ interactive tablet and clicker system donated by Sangari SA and an eBeam donated by Khulu Business Solutions. These donations will be made to your school and only school-based educators and SMT will be eligible to win.

Please do not smoke in the buildings or within 30m of the buildings. Keep your extinguished cigarette butts with you until you find a bin. Please switch cell phones off during sessions.

There will be a free finger supper at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 5th after the second keynote and awards to innovative teachers. This event is sponsored by Microsoft.

The conference dinner will be held at Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg on Wednesday 6 July. Arrive at 7:00 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Entrance will be granted to wearers of conference lanyards (registered conference delegates) only.

There are wifi hotspots available in various locations in the school including the Main Hall, Classroom 1, the dining hall and in the college computer labs.
