Twitter for Beginners


Twitter is a powerful tool for professional development, collaboration, sharing resources and classroom interaction to name but a few. This workshop is aimed at giving teachers new to twitter a comfort zone in using the tool in a powerful and effective way. You will learn how to share resources, summarise, have learning conversations, send notices and updates and communicate privately using the simplest tool on earth.



How to become a conference twit:

Creating a 1-Click Digital Library Mash-up (1 hour)

Social bookmarking provides a way to connect all the strands together while creating a free, open, personalized, powerful database of resources, conversations and learning material for your classroom, your school, e-learning course or yourself with the click of a button.




Using Twitter as a Higher Order Thinking Tool (1 hour)

This presentation will explore how we can actively use twitter as a higher order thinking tool in and out of the classroom in order to twink (think+tweet).



Advanced Educational Twitter

Twitter is a powerful tool for professional development, collaboration, sharing resources and classroom interaction to name but a few. This workshop is aimed at exploring some of the tools that takes twitter for teaching and learning to the next level. We will explore how we can set up and manage dedicated twitter streams/lists for our classroom/school, create funky learning newsletters, embed twitter streams in our learning management systems/blogs/wiki’s create pdf twitter summaries and have closed classroom discussion using twitter.
